Individual exercise programs
are complemented with additional programs including:

  • Circuit training
    • An innovative circuit training program on Friday mornings.
    • Program offers 10 different 1-minute stations through which users quickly move
    • Advantage:
      • Incorporates cardiovascular and muscular fitness into a 30-minute session.

Water in Motion - aquatic program

    • Provides motivating instructional aqua-exercise activities
    • Challenges participants to perform exercises and activities such as cardio, strength, flexibility and balance that would be difficult on dry land.
       
    • Recommended for individuals with various abilities and water experience (beginner to advanced).
    • An assessment and physical fitness appraisal will determine the appropriateness of this program to each individual and enable us to design a personalised exercise program.
    • The pool is equipped with a mechanical lift.  Staff and volunteers are available to assist individuals in entering and exiting the pool.  Staff and volunteers are also present in the water to provide assistance to participants when needed.

    • West Pool, W1-67 Van Vliet Centre, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

     Aides

    • You will need an aide if you are unable to change into and out of clothing or if you need constant assistance in the pool.

     Times

    Varies depending on time of year.  Please enquire.
     

     Cost

    • $25 for a 10-week session  (cost subject to change)
